Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Yay lists! This week's topic is Top Ten Books I HAD To Buy... But Are Still Sitting On My Shelf Unread. Ahhh, the guilty list. I have WAY too many books on my shelf that still need to be read.
1. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater: I know this one wasn't even released too long ago but the level of excitement I had for it warrants it being on this list, I think. I couldn't stop bouncing for WEEKS and then I just dumped it on to a shelf. I'll be back for you, my pretty <3
2. Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver: Sonia, what???? I don't know what's wrong with me. I LOVED Delirium and Lauren Oliver is one of my favourite authors. SO WHY WON'T I JUST READ IT ALREADY???
3. Crossed by Ally Condie: I loved Matched and pre-ordered this one (something that's pretty rare for me). Then I read a couple of bad reviews and I think I was a little nervous... but maybe like almost a year and a half is enough time for that to stop me? SERIOUSLY.
4. Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev: I was SO unbelievably excited for this one from the summary and I still am! I just need to make some time for it (and uh, remember that it exists when I go to choose my next book, I'm terrible at that).
5. The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann: Harry Potter + Hunger Games. If that's not enough to make me read a book, I don't know what is. And yet, here we are...
6. The Faerie Ring by Kiki Hamilton: Another pre-order! Okay, I was buzzing for this book for months. I was already partying with my bookmarks, postcards and button which, at the time, was such an exciting novelty. I will have to read this one SOON!
7. Entwined by Heather Dixon: I think this cover was enough to make me want to try out the book but then I heard about the plot. AHHH! HOW have I not read this already with a beautifully-sounding plot AND to-die-for cover.
8. Fateful by Claudia Gray: I don't know what it is about the Titanic + werewolves but even now, that concept gives me some thrill. I am really, really curious to see if it works for the book and really, really regretting that I haven't already done so.
9. The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima: This is probably one of the most guilty books on the list because not only do I own the first one, I own ALL OF THEM. And it's fantasy. And everyone seems to love them. And it's fantasy. Did I mention it's fantasy?
Sonia, you've got some fantastic books there! I'll give an advice, one that I really should follow too, but try and read one from your TBR pile every 2nd or 3rd book that you read. As in not for tours, or for reviews, but just one that you want to read...otherwise you'll be like me and never get to read any of my TBR's LOL

Have a great week!
Hi Angelica, thanks for commenting! :) That's definitely something that I'll have to consider, or at least just incorporating more older releases that I want to read into my schedule. Here's hoping that we both get some time with our TBR piles! :D
DeleteI ADORED The Demon King and the rest of the series. I'm so sad it's all over now. :(
ReplyDeleteYES, Erin stamp of approval! <3 Hopefully I'll start it soon and you and I can gush over it together!
DeletePANDEMONIUM!! Yes exactly, how could you have not read it after that hell of a cliffhanger in Delirium? xD I found Pandemonium to be much better than Delirium and still crossing my fingers for Requiem! I need to get started on the Matched series as well, not to mention some Maggie Stiefvater's books!

My Top Ten Tuesday
I KNOW, RIGHT? The ending of Delirium like stopped my heart for a second so how have I not gone straight into Pandemonium? That's really great to hear that you enjoyed Pandemonium so much, YAY! :)
DeleteI really, really recommend Matched and Maggie Stiefvater, all of those books are so beautifully written and crafted!
I really enjoyed Fateful! I neat book and I like that it isn't a series so you know if you read it you aren't committed to three more. Here is my Top Ten Tuesday
ReplyDeleteAngie
Ooh, such a good point! It would be nice to read a good standalone so maybe I'll be reading Fateful sooner than I thought... Thanks, Angie! :D
DeleteI got Pandemonium on my list too! and Matched. I just have to buy those with all the hype around the books ;)
ReplyDeleteHere's my Top 10
I loved Matched! :) Hope that you enjoy it and thanks so much for commenting! <3
DeleteRead PANDEMONIUM! Ah, as much as I love Delirium, I think Pandemonium is even better!!

I will, I will, I will! Eeeeeeeeee but I'm so nervous and I don't even know why! < LOL that's a lie, I totally know why. Really, this is all the Internet's fault for scaring me off of books before I can even get started on them! :P
DeleteAAAHHH!! Read The Demon King! That series is crazy beautiful and amazing. You'll love the main characters (especially Han...I hate it when fictional characters aren't real).
ReplyDeleteFictional characters being fictional is the LAMENT OF MY LIFE.
DeleteBut I'm so much more excited to read The Demon King now, thank you! :)
Wow so you've over half my list! And you liked them all! SCORE! I think I'll have to start The Demon King tomorrow, everyone seems to love it so much. While, I mean, I already knew... but it's nice being reminded :) Thanks for sharing, Sierra! <3
ReplyDeleteI love Pandemonium. Lauren Oliver was pretty consistent with the writing. I liked how it was different, but similar to Delirium. I can't wait to get into Requiem.
ReplyDeleteAhahaha your thoughts on Pandemonium describe me perfectly! And I feel the same way about Crossed. I had some mixed feelings about the second book too, so I'm a bit reluctant to start. But this is why you should read it first and tell me if it's good or not! :)
ReplyDeleteBut THE RAVEN BOYS.
Ouch. Sonia. That actually physically pains me!! Read it read it read it! X)
Ah, I really need to read The Raven Boys and Crossed, too. You should get to Pandemonium soon, though. Esp now that Requiem is out. Pandemonium wasn't my favorite, but I loved Requiem. And it's always nice to have the next book right there waiting for you. Hope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteFantasy! Yippeepee! I hope you get a chance to read these books! Raven Boys and Fatefull are awesome!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read The Unwanteds, too- it's been on my to-read list for so long I think I'm just going to have to buy it so I can read it, because it doesn't seem to be at my library. And it sounds SO GOOD.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy Crossed- I hope this doesn't put you off even more, but I didn't like the series very much after Matched, I thought the progression went down, but seeing you have it I still think you should see what you think; if you write a review for it, I look forward to seeing what you think!
I think you could put off Pandemonium a bit longer... I had so many mixed feelings for the last two books of the series! :P But you really must get around to The Raven Boys as soon as you can. It's such a brilliant read! :)
ReplyDeleteYou really must read Pandemonium because it was even better than Delirium in my opinion. I have read Entwined and thought it was good but it didn't really wow me. The story has a unique feel to it though so it does have that going for it. The Unwanteds is really an amazing middle grade read that combines a dystopian feel to a Harry Potter feeling book, I really highly recommend it. The Faerie Ring was ok but it didn't really capture what the author should have done with it in my opinion. lol Crossed was where I gave up on that series. I didn't love Matched so I was hoping that Crossed would bring the story together and instead it made it fall apart for me, the plot lines were so boring I just couldn't take it anymore and gave up.
ReplyDeleteSome of the others are still on my tbr piles! I hope you are able to get to all of these sooner rather than later!
Ahhh I have yet to read half of these as well (Pandemonium, Fateful, still haven't even read Matched, let alone Crossed...). I must say, I am often guilty of buying books and then not reading them for ages...it's a terrible habit :P (I just spelt habit as hobbit and didn't even notice until just before pressing the publish button...)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Matched, but the sequel was such a let down. :( And I had mixed feeling on The Faerie Ring - for the most part I enjoyed it, but the mc was frustrating at times! Anyway, what is it with us bookworms - rushing out to buy books, them leaving them all alone our bookshelves unread and unloved. xD
