So you know the last few weeks have been kind of slow book-wise for me? NOT THIS TIME! Canadian publishers, I love you <3 These actually all came on the same day which was crazy but hey, I'm not complaining.

(I found my camera! And the charger! YAY!)

Croak by Gina Damico - This one was pitched as snarky and funny which totally sounds like my kind of read. The cover is so shiny.

Dead Is A Battlefield by Marlene Perez - Ahh, this sounds really good... too bad it's the 6th book in a series I haven't yet started! I'll have to see whether I'm going to start the series from the beginning or just pass the book along to someone else.

Illuminate by Aimee Agresti - I've already finished this one and it is SO GOOD. Stay tuned for an interview with the author and giveaway for Canadian residents.

Loss by Jackie Morse Kessler - Another series I have yet to start! I've been interesting in beginning it for a while though so hopefully I'll be able to soon. This one is also veeery shiny.

Fever by Lauren DeStefano - I loved Wither when I read it last year and so I have been dying to get my hands on this sequel. I've read some awesome reviews already and I'm eager to get back to this fascinating world. I can't wait to get started!

The Last Princess by Galaxy Craze - I can't wait to get started on this! + seriously, Galaxy Craze is the coolest name EVER.

Revived by Cat Patrick - WOO! I'm so glad that this is here -- the premise sounds amazing and I've heard great things about Cat Patrick's debut novel (which I will get to... eventually...)

The Storm Makers by Jennifer E. Smith - I really loved Jennifer's novel The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight and even though this is completely different, I'm still pumped! I love MGs like this one :)

I started this yesterday -- I'm not very far, just starting the denial stage -- but I really like it so far! Brie's pretty easy to relate to and I can see the humour that everyone keeps mentioning. Now I just need to be properly introduced to Patrick and all will be well ;)

I got some reaaaally awesome books this week, none of which I've read. I'm so excited to get started on all of them!

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - I can't believe I hadn't gotten this book until now... I love John Green and his novels. This one sounds quite different but also very, very good. I think it's from Razorbill's new Canadian site (check it out!) but I'm not 100% sure.

This Is Not A Test by Courtney Summers - I LOVE Courtney Summers. I've read all of her books and they're so emotional and heart-wrenching and just wow. Plus, she's Canadian! :) This book will probably be a different reading experience from her other books because it's about, well, zombies, but I'm thrilled about that. I have this one as an eARC from Raincoast Books -- thank you so much, Crystal!

Monument 14 by Emmy Laybourne - Does this not sound amazing? The concept is incredible and just super, super cool. I used to think about living in a superstore all the time when I was younger! I can't wait to read this one and see what it's all about. This is also an eARC for review from Raincoast Books.

This books sounds downright CREEPY. I am really excited to read it! I have yet to tire of the dystopian genre and I love all the unique things there are to be done with it. Pure definitely sounds original.

FINALLY! *pumps fists in air* I have been dying to read this one since I first heard of it. My pre-order finally arrived this week. Only question is... why haven't I already devoured it?

Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood

I saw this one put out early in my local drug store and made a mad dash for it. Gorgeous cover, witches AND some very promising reviews already? I'm excited.

Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev

I'm really intrigued by the concept of this one so when I saw the hardcover on sale at Chapters for like $7, I had to grab it.

Graceling by Kristin Cashore

This is basically the same story as with Eyes Like Stars - the hardcover was $7. I am pretty ashamed to say I haven't read this yet... and I call myself a fantasy lover. Plus, everyone right now is all, "Bitterblueeee!" so I've been itching to start this series. Fingers crossed that I love it!

The Tiger's Wife by Téa Obreht

I bought this for school... it sounds pretty cool!

It was only when I looked at my last IMM that I realized how many things I've left out of this post but I've already taken the picture and to be perfectly honest, I don't want to walk back upstairs. So! You'll have to settle for the things I got most recently.

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith (Purchased) - Already read and reviewed this one - I loved it! I am starting to get more into contemporary as a genre and this is just one of the gems I've discovered.

Fallen, Torment and Passion by Lauren Kate (Won) - All of these come (signed!) from Rachel over at Fiktshun (who is equal parts generous and awesome). I've only read Fallen so far, but I did enjoy it and hopefully the others will meet my expectations.

Thanks to Raincoast Books for this one! It sounds fantastic. This ARC doesn't have the pretty final cover that's been appearing all over the blogosphere this week but oh well :) Guess I'll have to wait to see the cover in stores!

Tempest by Julie Cross
Again, thanks to Raincoast Books. I LOVE that cover, and the whole time travel thing is fascinating to me. Hoping this one will surpass my very high expectations!

Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick by Joe Schreiber
Thomas Allen & Son was so good to me this week! 3 books from them and I wasn't expecting any of them :) Thanks so much! This book sounds... crazy. Totally action-packed, but surprisingly less than 200 pages. Should be fun!

In the Forests of the Night by Kersten Hamilton
I haven't read the book before this one in the series (Tyger Tyger) but I put it on hold at my library. Hopefully I'll be able to get to both of these soon! I mean... goblins? How can I resist that?

The White Assassin by Hilary Wagner
I'd actually never heard of this series but it sounds great! What really sold me on it is the blurb from Rick Riordan.... I'll have to see if I can get ahold of the first book since my library doesn't carry it.

Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson (Won from Kaye at Paper Reader who is all sorts of lovely): I've been looking forward to this one for a while so I was SO excited when I won a copy.

Dark of the Moon by Tracy Barrett (Review from Thomas Allen & Sons): Like I've said probably 50 times by now, I love Greek mythology. This one sounds like a pretty insane twist!

Forgotten by Cat Patrick (Won from Emilie at A Beautiful Madness): This is part one of a two-book prize pack I won from Emilie (the other is a pre-order for December). I've been dying to read this book for so long but kept putting it off because I really prefer the Australian cover (yeah, yeah). Actually though, this looks so much better in person! The front cover is still nothing fabulous for me but the spine, back and cover flaps? So, so pretty.

Pilgrims Don't Wear Pink by Stephanie Kate Strohm (Review from Thomas Allen & Sons): This book looks adorable! It won't be out until May 2012, but I'm still really excited to start it.

Remembrance by Michelle Madow (Review from author): I am a big Taylor Swift fan and after I heard this was inspired by the Love Story video... had to read it! Big thanks to Michelle for sending this my way :)

Wherever You Go by Heather Davis (Yet another review book from Thomas Allen & Sons): Ghosts and relationships and death lalala I want to read this so badly.

It's been a few weeks since my last IMM so this one is a little bigger than usual. Here we go:

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead (Purchased) - I FINALLY GOT IT! :) Haven't started yet (I'm trying to hold off until I can get through some more library books) but at least now it is in my possession for when I'm ready to read it!

Falling For Hamlet by Michelle Ray (Library) - I'm reading this right now and it is so good! I actually really like Hamlet (the character) and although certain things about Ophelia bug me, she's pretty cool too.

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman (Library) - After being ordered by Victoria Schwab (and many other people) to read something by Neil Gaiman, I finally caved and checked out this one. I'm excited, but a little daunted by the Neil Gaiman fanbase.

Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout + swag (Publisher) - This one is kind of a huge deal to me because it's the first book I've ever requested for review (not counting NetGalley). Thanks so much to Spencer Hill Press and to Hayley from The Fable Faerie who was really helpful throughout the entire process :)

Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen (RAK from Nicole at Nicole's YA Book Haven) - I've read this before (as well as all of Sarah's works) but it's nice to have my own copy. Thanks, Nicole!

Prom & Prejudice by Elizabeth Eulberg (Library) - I really liked The Lonely Hearts Club which is a book by the same author and immediately went in search of this after finishing it. It's quite short, so hopefully I'll be able to just pick it up and quickly read it soon.

Ripple by Mandy Hubbard (Library) - I finished this earlier today actually. It was good but I had a few problems with it... a fun read overall.

Vanish by Sophie Jordan ARC (Won from Arena at The Nerd's Wife) - I read this as soon as I got it and loved it. I don't want to say I told you so about the whole Cassian thing but.... I told you so.

Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer (Library) - I am nervous as hell to read this book. I really enjoyed Nightshade but this one will have more Shay and less Ren (plus pack!), which is a little scary since Shay annoys me for no particular reason, at least as a love interest. Also, I've heard the history chunk at the beginning can go either way and I'm not sure where I'll fall. Still, I've read some good reviews to balance out the negative!

Abandon by Meg Cabot (signed!): Thank you so much to Heidi from YA Bibliophile for this one! This one also came last week, actually on the same day as Sirenz - guess my brain decided to temporarily erase that day from memory?

Captivate by Carrie Jones: I read this one on Friday, and liked it a lot more than the first book. Review should be up... someday. (From the library.)

Mercy by Rebecca Lim: This one is also from the library. I've heard mixed reviews for this one but it sounds pretty good. 

Glimmerglass by Jenna Black: I have a huge thing for faeries so I'm excited to start a new series about them. Another library loan.

The Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan: I bought this from Chapters last Sunday right after posting my IMM and read it straight away. I liked it a lot! Especially Anubis - every time he comes into a scene, my only reaction is "heheheeeeeeeee!"

Fragile Eternity by Melissa Marr: This was on sale for $7 at Chapters (hardcover) and I loved the first two books in the series so I went for it. Fair warning: my thoughts after reading will probably be: SETH. I LIKE HIM. I WANT HIM. WANTWANTWANT.

Uncommon Criminals by Ally Carter - So glad to have this one! I loved Heist Society and I'm ready to jump back into Kat's world (and... okay. I'm a little excited to go back to Hale as well). Thanks to Chrystal from Snowdrop Dreams of Books for this one! :)

What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen - I won this from Hilde at The Turn of the Page. I've already read it from when I checked it out of the library but I'm hoping to go to one of Sarah's signings when she comes to Toronto next month. Either way, it's nice to have a copy of my own!

Waterfall by Lisa T. Bergren - I won this (I know, I win way too many books) from the lovely group of bloggers behind Teens Read and Write. I've started it and am trying to stop while I get through some eARCs that will expire soon but... so good!

Pretty Bad Things by C.J. Skuse - This comes from the library. I haven't heard too much about it but I like the excerpt on the back (it involves donuts).

Once Every Never by Lesley Livingston - Also from my library. I'm so excited to read this one! I love Lesley's work aaaaaand Honey gave it an awesome review. I trust her judgement.

Wondering what that gun charm is about? ARE YOU SCARED? Don't be. I won it during Sarah Rees Brennan week (hosted by YA Bibliophile and The Reading Housewives of Indiana) from Becky at Just a Tilted Lamp. It is awesome and will be given to my friend who is a little obsessed with weapons/wars/armies. Ahem.

Between Here and Forever by Elizabeth Scott - I read (and reviewed) this one a while ago from Galley Grab but recently won a hard copy from the author.

The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab - Thanks so much to Susan for offering up this copy in a giveaway. (Also, Victoria said I summed up her life which is, I don't know, kind of cool.) I already read it and it's a new favourite :) Loved.

My Life Undecided by Jessica Brody - I also won this one from the author, and it's signed. I haven't started yet but it looks so fun. Hopefully I'll get to it soon!

Hourglass by Myra McEntire - I won this from Pamela so thank you, Pamela! I read it yesterday and I loved it - time travel, awesome protag., cute boys... sold. Review should be up soon-ish.

Only 2 books this week! It's probably for the best though since I actually had to return some library books unread which I HATE doing. I guess I'll just have to put them on hold again... *drawn-out sigh*

First, I got Withering Tights by Louise Rennison from my fantastic library. (Goodreads profile)

HELLO, CUTEST BOOK EVER.

Well, the cover at least. Seriously though, doesn't it look totally adorable? There's pink and stripes and an OWL and green and just... love. I haven't read it yet because I have some other books I need to get to first but I'm reaaaally excited to read it. It looks cute. I like cute <3

Next, we have The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne M. Valente which I won from Peace, Love & Reviews. (Goodreads profile)

Alright, STORY TIME!

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Sonia. She was on Goodreads when a book title caught her eye. This title was super long and super interesting and just super COOL. So she admired it. THEN she noticed the blurbers (is that a word?): Neil Gaiman, Tamora Pierce and Holly Black. Her brain nearly EXPLODED with the awesome because oh my gosh, if someone was going to blurb her book, SHE WOULD WANT THEM.

Anyways. A while later, she noticed a giveaway on someone's blog. Then another one. Then another one. She kept entering until finally, she was like, "how many giveaways for this book ARE there right now?!" So she Googled it.

After the deadline for the giveaway had passed, her inbox was blessed with not one, not two or three, but FOUR e-mails saying she'd won.

I KNOW, RIGHT? So, I won 4 copies. After I'd sent off my mailing details to the first though, I just told the second and third to draw a new winner because really, what kind of greedy person needs 3 copies of the same book when other people could get the chance to have it? (No offence if you've done that.. LOL.) For the fourth though, I asked on Twitter if anyone (US/Canada) wanted it and then just gave the person their mailing info. WHEW. Anyways, totally stoked to read this book. My little sister started it and she's really liking it so far.

I love how even when I only get 2 books, I still manage to have a gigantic IMM post. This is why I don't vlog... can you imagine how much rambling you would be subjected to?

The only one from this bunch that I have not yet read is Everlasting. I have definitely started this series and I'm pretty sure I read the third (Shadowland) and the books that come before it. I might just start the series over again since it has been a while.. I don't know. Undecided right now. Thanks so much to Tristan from Reads With Wreckless Abandon for this!

Of course, I've already read Anna but Ashley from Book Labyrinth was kind enough to send it to me as a RAK. Thank you, Ashley!!

I bought Red Glove (which I've already read) from Costco yesterday for just over $10. I was going to wait for the paperback so that it would match my copy of White Cat but I only prefer that one because you can see Cassel's face LOL.

Spirit Bound is actually the only book I didn't own from the Vampire Academy series (don't ask - longlonglong story) but amazingly, I won it from Erika at Moonlight Book Reviews so now I have the complete collection!

Do you see Supernaturally there? YES. YOU DO. I won it a fairly long time ago from Kiersten White's blog (which is amazing and brings up my happiness levels frequently) and it finally got to me! I read it as soon as I opened the package, of course, and I loved it. It's different from Paranormalcy but I don't like it any less. Kiersten also signed and personalized the book... which kind of made my week.

FINALLY WE HAVE COME TO THE MOST IMPORANT THING: my t-shirt. Haha, I thought it was cool. I am totally going to wear that when I see Breaking Dawn (if I see BD) (I probably will).

A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies - Thank you, Harper and Net Galley! I can't wait to dive into this book. The cover is gorgeous and this review from Starry Sky Books is kind of awesome.

The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa - HARLEQUIN TEEN/NET GALLEY, I LOVE YOU. MARRY ME? My poor sister's ears may never recover from the squealing I did when I was accepted for this galley. I read it and I loved it - my review will be up closer to the release date :)

The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson - Thanks again to Harper and Net Galley! This book looks fantastic. I tend to really like fantasty and this one is blurbed by Tamora Pierce - WIN.

Drink, Slay, Love by Sarah Beth Durst - This one is courtesy of S&S Galley Grab. Hahahaha. Just reading the summary makes me laugh. Ha. Hahaha. (It's um, early morning? Closer to noon, actually but... whatever).

So, not many books this week but on the bright side, the postal strike is over!

Abandon by Meg Cabot is from the library (the only one this week!). I have been dying to read this book for so long so I can't wait to get started.

The Beginning of After by Jennifer Castle (thanks to NetGalley and HarperTeen) sounds like just my kind of book. I probably won't get to it until closer to the release date (September 6th) but I'm excited to have it anyways!

The Mephisto Covenant by Trinity Faegen (thanks to NetGalley and Egmont) is another one that sounds really good. I haven't heard too much about it but the little that I have sounds great.

Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow - Thanks so much to Lindsay from Me on Books for sending me this one. I love the tagline :) It sounds awesome.

Tris & Izzie by Mette Ivie Harrison (thanks again to NetGalley and Egmont) sounds fantastic. I love modern day retellings and I've always liked the story of Tristan & Isolde. Just a heads up that if you wanted this one, it's read-now on NetGalley, meaning that you don't even have to request it.

Sorry for the blog silence these past couple of days (or maybe you didn't notice?). In addition to being sick and taking lots of naps and quick visits to the garbage can, I've been working on some exciting stuff that you'll get to see later this month :)

Another large haul this week because of the gap from last time because of my hiatus status. I've been lucky to get a couple of things delivered by DHL during the postal strike but it's still delayed a few books. Fingers crossed that our mail is back next week!

So, no real picture this time because I'm at my cottage right now. I made a collage on paint for you though that only took... oh, 3.5 million years.

Review Books (both from S&S Galley Grab)

Clean by Amy Reed - I've read Amy's other book and I really liked it. This one sounds like another great emotional journey. Excited to start it!

The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann - DID YOU SEE THAT BLURB?? "The Hunger Games Meets Harry Potter." I will read it and devour it and love it forever (I hope). This looks like something my sister would enjoy as well :) I love some good MG and Lisa McMann's books have been great so far.

Library Books

Across the Universe by Beth Revis - I was so excited that this one finally came in! It sounds really interesting and mostly everyone I know that's read it has loved it. It's not really my typical read but I have a good feeling nonetheless.

Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton - I've started this one and I really like it so far. Lots of fighting and Will is pretty spectacular.

Clarity by Kim Harrington - Another one I've checked out because of good recommendations.

The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima - I actually got this one before but I had to return it before I could read it. I loaned it out to a friend though (loaned a loan?) and despite how picky she normally is, she said it was good.

Red Glove by Holly Black - I neeeeed to read this one after finishing White Cat. NEED TO!

Ten Things We Did (And Probably Shouldn't Have) by Sarah Mlynowski - This book sounds cute, fun and the author is Canadian. Win.

The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong - I love Kelley's other series (reviews here, here and here) and so I'm super eager to delve back into the world.

Paranormalcy by Kiersten White which I've already read and loved (review here) aaaand I'm starting to sound like a self-promotion ad. Oh well. The links are there for you to click if you want to.

Unearthly by Cynthia Hand is soooo pretty and shiny and purple <3 I've heard the story is pretty fantastic, too!    

Beauty Queens by Libba Bray was won from Irish at Ticket to Anywhere. This books looks awesome - hilarious, insightful and refreshing. I wish I didn't have so many books to read before it!

The Demon Trapper's Daughter by Jana Oliver (+ swag) - I believe I won this one from a giveaway hop... could be wrong though. It's from Karen at For What It's Worth and it's signed! So excited, so thank you very much to Karen :)

Free Stuff!

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater is a free audio book that's available for a limited time at Audio Book Sync until the 29th of this month. I've only listened to Part 1 of 9 so far but I'm really enjoying the experience of my first audio book so far!

I feel like there should be some dramatic music playing right now as I venture into my very first IMM. I kind of obsessively like to check out other people's IMM posts so I've finally decided to do one of my own.

So, yesterday morning, my mailbox exploded (well, for me, anyways). My dad comes into the house with like a million brown packages with my name stamped across them and I like was like "YAY! HAPPY FACE!" Here's what I got:

My horrible editing skills aside, ISN'T THIS AWESOME? I know that for some people, this is nothing, but I thought it was fabulous. Don't be expecting something this cool every week, guys.

Desires of the Dead by Kimberly Derting is a book that I got from the library. I really loved The Body Finder so I was thrilled that this one came in!

The Iron Witch by Karen Mahoney was gifted to me as a R.A.K. from Ann over at Annabell's Book Nook. Thanks, Ann! I didn't know what you were sending me but I love it and I'm so excited to start reading.

White Cat by Holly Black was also gifted to me through the R.A.K. program. This one came from Memrie whose blog can be found right over here. I loved White Cat and it's fantastic to finally have my own copy. Thanks so much to Memrie!

Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick is another library loan. I have been dying to read this one ever since I finished Hush, Hush so I'm glad that I'll finally get a chance to do so.

Entwined by Heather Dixon is a book that I won as part of a big prize pack from Elaina over at New Reading Mania. I love the original story this book is based on and the cover is stunning. This one will be proudly displayed on my shelf!

Die For Me by Amy Plum is another part of that prize pack I was talking about. I've heard such good things about this one so I'm really excited to dive into it. Thanks, Elaina!

Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins is the last book from the Elaina's prize pack. Have I mentioned how much I love this girl? I haven't read Hex Hall yet but I've heard nothing but praise. I actually gave it to a friend for her birthday so I may have to steal it back to read it now ;)

The Dark Divine by Bree Despain is yet another library book (I think I have 30-something out right now). I haven't heard too much about this one other than it focuses on werewolves but that enough makes me want to read it so, hopefully I like it!

The Vespertine by Saundra Mitchell (thank you, library) looks like some really good historical fiction. I don't read too much historical but I've generally enjoyed the ones I have read. I've also read some really positive reviews by people I trust about The Vespertine so I'm interested to see what it's about (because I really have no idea at the moment).

13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson - yeah, I still haven't read this one. It was actually supposed to have been taken away from the holds shelf and shipped off to another location because I took too long to get it but for some reason or another, it was left behind. I don't mind! I can't wait to read this one. The premise sounds awesome and I already love Maureen from Twitter (WSJ, anyone?).

Summer's Crossing by Julie Kagawa - What do I even need to say? I haven't read this yet but WHEN I DO..! I can't wait for more Puck!

Legacy by Cayla Cluver is an e-galley that I got through Net Galley. Again, this one in historical, and it looks wonderful! I haven't heard too much about it but once I read the summary, I knew it was something I would be interested in.

So, that's all the books I got this week but I did receive some swag.

Cari over at Cari's Book Blog was having a random Twitter trivia and giveaway session and I managed to score that awesome The Body Finder tote bag. All I knew when I won was that I would be getting a tote bag - when I opened the package (or rather, my little sister did, thanks very much, Anita) I'll admit that I screamed a little.

Finally, a while back, I won a bookmark based on The Goddess Test by Aimée Carter from Marissa at Novels on the Run and it is PRETTY. Thanks, Marissa!
